$1 million advance for Queer Eye book.
Random House has paid a $1 million advance to the creators and producers for a book based upon Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The book, which is expected to be released in Feb. by Random House’s Clarkson Potter imprint, will offer “edgy yet practical advice” from the Fab Five, Clarkson Potter’s VP tells the New York Post. Keith Kelly repots that “[i]t is not clear exactly how the advance money will be divvied up between the company that conceived the show and the stars and their agents.”
+ also: dismissed pilot episode Culture Guy says it probably “had more to do with my age than my race.”
+ and: a conversation with the Fab Five.
+ update: the book’s title mirrors the show, and is subtitled “The Fab 5’s Guide to Looking Better, Cooking Better, Dressing Better, Behaving Better, and Living Better.”
