Archivescop’s Queer Eye appearance questioned by Port Authority, then okayed.
A Port Authority cop’s appearance on Tuesday’s episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was problematic because he “never got permission to be identified as a PA cop and should not have allowed a civilian to wear his uniform,” the New York Daily News reports. It quotes a Port Authority spokesperson, who said, “We are looking into the matter.” However, The Advocate quotes another Port Authority spokesperson who said, “Our police superintendent watched the show and enjoyed it thoroughly. … The officer did this on his own time. We have no issue with this.” The New York Post disses its rival paper, saying “when scoop-starved editors at the Daily News get desperate for an exclusive, they simply make one up.”
