Tim’s makeover show, co-hosted with Veronica Webb, debuts at 10 p.m. ET, although Bravo aired the show’s second episode following Top Chef 3 last night. His new series is, tragically, an ordinary makeover show that brings nothing new to the genre—except Tim. He’s as witty and smart as usual, but that’s probably not enough to draw viewers who would otherwise not be watching every other makeover show now on television. It’s too bad that after breaking ground with Queer Eye, which will soon air its final season, Bravo gave its biggest star a tired vehicle.
In other Tim Gunn news, his revelation Monday that the Weinstein Company, which produces Project Runway, wouldn’t let him use the show’s name in his book has been disputed by a spokesperson. “We adore Tim Gunn and this seems like a game of ‘telephone’ gone awry. The Weinstein Co. never prevented Tim’s publisher from referencing ‘Project Runway’ in the book,” a spokesperson told the New York Post.
