Project Runway 4
Tim Gunn's Guide to Style

Project Runway 4 will film in June, in-between episodes of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style

Although Project Runway 4 won’t debut until the fall, and perhaps not until December, the show will again be filmed in June.

In a story about Tim Gunn’s new show Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, New York Magazine reports that “Gunn films Project in June.” During that month, “producers [for his other show] will look at ‘tons and tons’ of tape for the first two episodes and figure out how to structure the show.”

The second episode of his new show tapes this week, and Tim—who just moved into a new Chesea home and “plans to unpack everything himself, rejecting the idea of a personal assistant”—tells the magazine, “When we go back and do it in July, it should be smoother and better worked out.”

That production schedule for Project Runway 4 will allow the final three or four designers to have six months or so to produce their final collections, assuming the designers present at Fashion Week next spring. That seems like the only logical possibility, because if they present this fall, the show’s outcome will be revealed before it ever airs. Last year, the final four had just two months to prepare before presenting at Fashion Week.
