Project Runway’s show at Fashion Week is tomorrow, and will likely feature the final four
The final Project Runway 2 fashion show takes place tomorrow at 9 a.m. in New York as part of Fashion Week. While other Fashion Week shows are streaming online, and while the Project Runway show was originally scheduled to be watchable online, it’s been removed form the streaming schedule.
More likely than not, seeing the show in person or reading about it will not spoil anything except the designers’ collections. Last year, each of the final four designers presented a collection, even though only three were shown on TV, in order to protect the identity of the final three. (Austin presented the decoy collection.) After last night’s episode, just four designers remain: Chloe, Kara, Daniel, and Santino—so presumably, they’ll all present collections tomorrow.
Speaking of the final four, just how is it that Santino has survived this long? One critic thinks it has to do with the very disappointing disclaimer that airs at the end of the show. The disclaimer says:
“The judges considered both their scores and input from the Producers and Bravo in reaching their elimination decisions.”
For a show that’s known for its focus on talent and skill, that’s disappointing at the least. The Philadelphia Daily News’ Ellen Gray agrees, writing, “It’s been ages since the judges have liked anything Santino’s wrought … Note to the control freaks in charge of ‘Runway’: Your concept’s a winner. Show a little faith, loosen the reins, and let Santino go, already.”
We’ll find out if he does go next Wednesday, when a regular episode will air. The following week, Feb. 22, Bravo will air the reunion, and then Project Runway 2’s finale will air over two weeks, March 1 and 8.
