ArchivesIn advance of Project Runway 2’s debut next Wednesday, two new products are hitting stores. Earlier this week, the season one DVD was released. It includes all of the episodes plus bonus material.
And next week, Elle will publish a Project Runway magazine that “will be given to shoppers at Banana Republic as a gift with purchases beginning Dec. 7” and “will also be shipped to Elle subscribers with the January issue, on newsstands Dec. 13,” Mediaweek reports. “A second issue will debut in mid-March to lead up to the show’s finale.”
As if a magazine published by one of the show’s sponsors wasn’t enough, Mediaweek notes that the “9 pages of ads come from show sponsors TREsemmé, L’Oreal and Banana Republic.” And the content, of course, is all about the show; the magazine “contains profiles and information on contestants, judges and storylines from Project Runway’s first and second seasons. It also has profiles of stylists and designers who work behind the scenes.”
Just for good whoring measure, “Elle will also carry a Project Runway special advertising section in its February issue,” according to Mediaweek.
