ArchivesElizabeth Hurley has apparently beaten Elle MacPherson in their contest to host the UK’s version of Project Runway. According to earlier reports, Elle was producers’ first choice, but Liz apparently convinced them with a video and promises to use her contacts. All she had to say about her new job was this: “I am thrilled to be hosting the show. It’s a brilliant and hugely entertaining format.”
The series will be known as Project Catwalk, and will air on Sky One. But besides the name change, everything else will remain the same. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series “will include a parallel competition featuring 12 models competing to be the designers’ muses. The show’s three finalists among the design competitors will each showcase full lines on the catwalk during London Fashion Week in February, and the winning designer’s garments and model will be photographed for a top magazine.”
