Despite the success of the first season, a second season of Bravo’s Project Runway is far from certain. Whether or not it returns depends upon production company Miramax Television’s “expected split from [parent company] Disney,” Mediaweek reports. “Disney reportedly has the option to maintain rights to some or all of Miramax’s current titles, pending negotiations. Whether the Weinsteins or Disney walk away with Runway remains uncertain,” the magazine says. Bravo president Lauren Zalaznick offers both hope and doubt, saying, “It is our heartfelt intent to be able to go to season two, but nothing is a given. … [producers] still need to figure out how they can cast another season of the show, and come up with a different set of challenges.”
