Piranha 3DD: Project Greenlight 3’s winners collaborate again

The winners of the outstanding reality series Project Greenlight’s third season have collaborated again, and the result is in theaters today: Piranha 3DD, a sequel to the comedic slasher film that featured a 3D version of a character’s penis being eaten by the fish.

The sequel is directed by John Gulager and written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, who have spent their post-series years writing the final four Saw movies. The three made the low-budget horror film Feast as part of the third season of the show, which aired on Bravo and was produced by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Chris Moore. (Alas, it doesn’t appear to be on DVD, though it survives elsewhere.)

In their new film, reality stars David Hasselhoff and Gary Busey are among the cast members; the movie takes place at a water park, which gets infested with piranha, as does a vagina, apparently. High art, this is not.

For a preview of their collaboration, including ridiculous but witty dialogue, watch the red-band trailer (i.e. it features nudity and violence):
