Feast will have “late night showings” only, then be released on DVD

Feast is finally getting its long-delayed theatrical release, but that won’t last very long. The film will actually only have “special late night showings” in theatres before it is released on DVD.

According to a Dimension Films press release, Feast “will hit theatres nationwide for special late night showings beginning on September 22 and 23, 2006. The special run will be followed by the DVD launch of ‘Feast’ on October 17, 2006.” The film will have its premiere Sept. 12 at the Palms in Las Vegas.

In the press release, Bob Winstein says, “We are thrilled to be able to bring this film — an incredible accomplishment for a first time filmmaker — to audiences everywhere.” He doesn’t mention why it’s been delayed so long, or why the film is getting late-night showings only.
