Project Greenlight 3 announces finalists.
Project Greenlight 3, which now has a home on Bravo instead of HBO, has announced its three finalists in each category. They’ll be flown to LA for interviews; the winners will be revealed July 13. The top three directors are James Ryan, Scott Smith, and John Gulager; the top three screenwriters are Rick Carr (for “Does Anybody Here Remember When Hanz Gubenstein Invented Time Travel?”), Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunston (for “Feast”), and Marshall Moseley (for “Wildcard”). This year’s contest sought more commercial films, and apparently they have them: “Feast” is described like this: “On a snowy evening at a rural watering hole, a motley crew of bar patrons struggle to survive a hungry family of flying beasts set on consuming a human buffet.” Likewise, “Does Anybody Here…” is summarized like this: “Two Eccentrics invent a device that sends messages back in time. They battle themselves, government agents, the complexities of Space-Time Theory, and the question of ‘How many lotteries can two people win before someone gets wise?’”
