Affleck: Greenlight’s director/writer combination “didn’t work out.”
Explaining the change in the structure of Project Greenlight 2, which will include contests to select both a screenwriter and a director, Ben Affleck tells USA TODAY that during the first season, “The idea of having a screenwriter-auteur kind of director didn’t work out.” Matt Damon told the paper that the structure “did them and ourselves a disservice.” The second contest starts Sept. 19.
