If Simon Cowell decides to focus on American Idol and bails on Pop Idol, which he’s apparently threatened to do, fellow judge Neil Fox says that should be the end of the British show. “We can only really do it with the same team. Part of me thinks it would be great to end it on a high,” he told the Daily Mirror. “It would become this thing where people said, ‘Do you remember Pop Idol? That show was unbelievable’.” Meanwhile, the show’s first winner, Will Young, told Neil Fox that he watches tapes of the first Pop Idol“when drunk and needing an ego boost.” On Fox’s radio show, Will said, “I have been known to pick up one of my old Pop Idol flags and when they announce the winner I wave it and then I pass out drunk on the sofa.”
