report: Will Young coming to the US; Clay’s single Solitaire is number one again.
A year ago, Pop Idol winner Will Young turned down a deal with a US record label because they wanted him to “keep quiet about his sexuality.” But a report says that has “signed a £1 million deal with BMG in the US … and is likely to release his first single within months,” according to Digital Spy’s recap of the Daily Star’s report. Whether or not he’s agreed to keep quite about being gay isn’t clear. A source says he “talks down his chances, [but] secretly he’s confident.” He may have to face Clay Aiken, whose single The Way/Solitaire is topping the Nielsen SoundScan singles chart for the second week in a row, while Solitaire “leads the Hot 100 Singles Sales chart for a third-straight week,” according to Billboard.
