Pirate Master’s contestant Cheryl Kosewicz’s death confirmed; funeral is set for Tuesday
As her fellow contestants first reported online this weekend, Pirate Master cast member Cheryl Kosewicz died last week.
She “was found dead in her home on Friday,” according to KOLO 8, the Reno, Nev., ABC affiliate. “Officials told Kolo-8, the death is believed to be a suicide but is still under investigation.” Because local news stations are incompetent, it offers no other details, and also reports that she starred in “a survivor spin-off show,” although her series was not a spin-off.
Meanwhile, contestant Joycelyn McElveen, known as Joy on the show, posted to the show’s Facebook group that “services are on Tues morning at 10 am.” She also provided the name and address of the funeral home “if any of the fans want to send flowers cards or whatever.” It’s Walton’s Sierra Chapel of Reno, 875 West Second Street in Reno.
Cast member Nessa posted to the group again, saying, “thank you all SO much for all the support and kind words…. There has been alot surrounding the show that has been really hard on all the pirates, and now the loss of Cheryl on top of everything comes as a major blow to everyone. We really, really, really appreciate all our fans and all of your kind words in the midst of this extreme tragedy.”
