Paradise Hotel, FOX’s best. reality. show. ever., may be returning this summer—and with its original cast. Could news get more exciting than this? Citing a C21Media report, Digital Spy quotes an exec at the series’ production company. He says, “We’re exploring the possibility of bringing it back. [FOX’s] Mike [Darnell] has been impressed with the performance of the format in Sweden, despite the fact that it was produced for much lower budgets that the Fox original. Fox has always wanted to return to Hotel but it enraged the Christian lobby and that hit ad sales,” Charles Thompson said. The cost of the series is also apparently an issue, and Digital Spy reports that, besides bringing in sponsorships, ideas to save costs include “bringing back the original cast.” Paradise Hotel aired in the summer of 2003, but despite hopeful statements from FOX’s Gail Berman, it never returned. Its weird cousin Forever Eden did air, and flopped miserably, airing just seven episodes.
