TV Guide Network’s Making News: Texas Style debuts tonight

Tonight at 8 p.m., the TV Guide Network debuts its first-ever original reality series, Making News: Texas Style.

The show follows “the KOSA news operation in Odessa, Texas,” and features everyone from “the anchors and reporters to the producers and crew,” according to the network. New episodes air every Monday; tonight, “[p]roducers try to pilfer a rival station’s anchorman to boost ratings. Meanwhile, a reporter stresses over an assignment that involves losing weight.”

The New York Daily News’ Richard Huff says it’s “fun to watch” and “a fascinating glimpse” at TV news; United Features Syndicate’s Kevin McDonough says it’s “a real winner” with “funny and sympathetic portrayals of its on-air characters.”
