A&E’s Driving Force debuts tonight

In its reality shows, A&E has already profiled tattoo artists (Inked), bounty hunters (Dog), car dealers, and airline employees (Airline), and tonight, the network focuses on drag racers. Driving Force, which debuts at 9 p.m. ET, follows “racing legend John Force and his three drag racing daughters,” according to the network.

Force has four daughters, but his racing daughters are 17, 19, and 23, and A&E promises that “the Forces have plenty of issues on the home front” that will make for plenty of drama. For starters, John is separated but not divorced from his wife, who’s the mother of his three youngest children.

The Albany Times Union’s Kevin McDonough says John “is repulsive to most females, particularly his wife and daughters” because he is “an abrasive, loud, insecure, dominating presence” who tells his daughters “he wished he had sons instead.”
