FX’s Todd TV debuts tonight.
Big Brother producer Endemol has found yet another venue for people to be subject to the whims of others, but this time, viewers, not megalomaniacal producers, are the ones in control. Todd TV debuts at 10 p.m. ET. on FX, and will air for seven episodes. During that time, the show’s web site says 30-year-old waiter Todd Santo’s “every move, every moment, every decision will be voted on by America.” That’s a lot of voting. However, Gannett reports that “At the end of each show, two scenarios will be presented on the screen,” and which one Todd follows will be determined by the audience. The New York Daily News’ David Bianculli says “is the most odious and manipulative concept since—well, since Monday, when Fox gave us ‘My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.’”
+ also: FX is looking for someone who is “outgoing, exciting and vaguely attractive” for a second Todd TV season.
