After setbacks and delays due to weather problems and a rescue mission to help another team that their own team leader with a concussion, the Global Extremes: Mt. Everest crew began climbing to the summit of the mountain yesterday, the 50th anniversary of the first expedition to reach the summit. OLN will air footage from yesterday’s climb, assuming it was successful, on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The network had planned to do a live broadcast, but Chinese television beat them to it, and, as the show’s site explains, it will be taped because of “the loss of the satellite window from Mt. Everest.”
