Before wannabe Simon Cowell Lorenzo Lamas used a laser pointer to point out flaws on people on Are You Hot?, Howard Stern did the same thing on his (televised) radio show. Because of the similarities, Stern “has complained that the concept was a ripoff of his radio bit,” the New York Daily News reports. Additionally, the show is produced by Scott Einziger, one of the producers for the Howard Stern Show on E!, and Jackie Martling, who left Howard’s show last year, is a consultant for the ABC series. Meanwhile, the web site Hot or Not? “are contemplating legal action against Are You Hot? because the show freely borrows their trademark phrase,” according to USA TODAY.
