On the Lot

On the Lot drew only 2.9 million viewers Monday

The third episode of FOX’s On the Lot, which introduced its awful new format and host, was so unpopular, FOX was left in fifth place last night, ahead of The CW but behind Univision.

Only 2.9 million viewers watched the two-hour show; by comparison, from 8 to 9, 6.3 million people watched Wife Swap on ABC, according to Variety. That’s pretty sad for a show produced by both Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg.

The show has basically hemorrhaged viewers from its debut last week. Last Tuesday, the show followed American Idol 6’s final performance show, but was watched by just 8.54 million viewers, and the audience tuned out during the hour. It eventually “fell to fourth place in total viewers from 9:30 to 10 (6.2 million),” Variety says.

On Thursday, 5.2 million viewers watched the 35-minute episode, Variety reports, only about half of the 10 million viewers who were watching So You Think You Can Dance before it.
