The LA Times wants to know who won The Next Great Champ and The Contender, and they’re petitioning the California State Athletic Commission under the California Public Records Act to have the results of the show’s boxing matches revealed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The shows have received a waiver allowing them to withhold the fight results, which otherwise would have to be disclosed immediately under California law along with such facts as the contestants, attendance, location and purse size.” While the newspaper didn’t comment, its filing says that the “petition should be granted so that the public can see whether the State Athletic Commission put the interests of boxing promoters and reality TV shows over the interests of the public.”
