ArchivesFOX’s fall talent search The Next Great American Band has announced its host and judges, and two of them are associated with versions of FOX’s other talent show.
The three judges are John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, musician Sheila E., and Australian Idol judge Ian “Dicko” Dickson. The show will be hosted by Dominic Bowden, who hosts New Zealand Idol.
“Last week, the judges took part in a Las Vegas round in which they narrowed the field,” USA TODAY reports. Of the performers, “the youngest is a 12-year-old drummer and the oldest is an 88-year-old grandmother.”
Sheila E. said, “The experience was more like boot camp. We actually heard a lot of great bands, (and) we heard a few people we could have gonged. … The range of music is awesome.”
