New York Goes to Hollywood, I Want to Work for Diddy debut tonight
Tonight, VH1 delivers two new series starring two very familiar reality TV faces.
At 9 p.m., Sean “Diddy” Combs launches a new Apprentice-like series, and although he ultimately has the Trump role, he “barely appears” in the first episode, USA TODAY reports. Diddy told the paper, “Just me looking for an assistant or an apprentice isn’t the show I wanted to do. No disrespect to Donald Trump — I love what he does. But this concept is about people pursuing their dreams and me providing an opportunity and the secrets of success.”
Thus, I Want to Work for Diddy is a competition between “13 determined young men and women with the raw potential to assist and exist with of one of the world’s most demanding CEOs,” according to VH1. The network says “[e]ach one-hour episode showcases a range of challenges, many based on the real life experiences of Diddy’s previous assistants,” and the contestants will be judged on their performance and eliminated by three judges.
An hour later, VH1 will give Tiffany “New York” Pollard yet another series. But this one, thankfully, is not a dating competition. Instead, New York Goes to Hollywood is a docudrama about her attempts to become “a legit actress,” according to VH1. Among other things, it will chronicle her break-up with Tailor Made, which she discussed recently in a Blog Talk Radio interview.
Her attempts to become an actor will not, tragically, stop her from doing more reality TV. “No matter what happens, I will always have time to do another reality show. Reality is my start. I’ll always have a deep love for it,” Tiffany told the Boston Herald.
