$25 Million Hoax’s $400,000 prize is actually just “a giant prize package.”
On last night’s premiere of NBC’s $25 Million Dollar Hoax, before the show recycled the same five seconds of Ed McMahon walking up the driveway half a dozen times, we learned the details of the prize.
George Gray, once host of The Weakest Link, showed up for a few seconds. Despite the fact that some fuzzy animal was on his chin, he managed to tell Chrissy that if she successfully betrayed her entire family, she’d win, and I quote, “a giant prize package worth almost $400,000.” Okay, um, what?
Let’s deconstruct that: First, it’s not cash, but “a prize package.” Second, it’s worth “almost” $400,000, which of course is almost but not even close to half a million dollars. Damn, what cheap bastards. At least FOX coughed up $1 million for My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.
