NBC trims “reality dud” Next Action Star.
NBC’s summer series Next Action Star hasn’t been doing well in the ratings. The network moved it to Wednesday nights, but there, it hasn’t done well either. As Zap2it.com puts it, “With NBC saddled with the low rated reality dud ‘Next Action Star,’ CBS has been able to take advantage by running off a series of Wednesday wins this summer.” As The Futon Critic reports this has led NBC to conclude the series next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, which means dropping the second-to-last episode. This has caused one other change, according to the site: “the Peacock has bumped up the premiere of ‘Bet Your Life’ (previously titled ‘Hit Me’), the telefilm which stars the winners of ‘Next Action Star,’ by one week. The two-hour original will now air Wednesday, August 4 at 8:00/7:00c.”
+ note: An earlier version of this post incorrectly mentioned that The Futon Critic’s summary of the film mentioned both winners by name; in fact, it just mentions the characters’ names.
