NBC’s Fame debuts tonight.
A week after the conclusion of American Idol, NBC is debuting its talent-search reality TV show, called Fame, at 8 p.m. ET tonight. Like the film and TV series with the same name, it involves Debbie Allen. The 10-episode show “will chronicle Allen’s attempts to recruit multi-talented performers (ages 16 and up) from across the country, followed by an intense ‘boot camp’ drill by Allen.” Later, viewers will be able to vote for finalists; the winner gets “recording and management contracts, agent representation and a year at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.” The series is hosted by ‘NSync’s Joey Fatone, and is produced by Stone Stanley, who produced Popstars and The Mole.
