ArchivesNashville Star will have yet another new host when it debuts next year. For the fifth season, Jewel is replacing Wynonna Judd. Last season’s co-host, Cowboy Troy, will return.
Nancy O’Dell hosted the show’s first two seasons, and was replaced by LeAnn Rimes for season three. She was replaced by Wynonna and Cowboy Troy last season. As previously announced, the new season debuts in January.
While Jewel isn’t exactly known for being a country singer, she says she has been a fan since her childhood. “I grew up on a ranch in Alaska, and my favorite memories are of sitting around a camp fire with my father and listening to the songs he wrote and sang. It was pure country music, and it has made me a sincere fan of country music ever since. I am so excited to be part of this show, and for the chance to watch the contestants compete in this uniquely American artform,” she said.
