ArchivesA 6’ 4” 20-year-old has won Nashville Star 4. Chris Young was crowned the winner on last night’s show, beating Nicole Jamrose and Casey Rivers.
He receives an RCA recording contract, and will appear on the Grand Ole Opry. After winning, he told the AP, “The whole time, I’ve just been trying to get to this moment. You can’t beat fan-voted competition.”
Perhaps unbelievably, the series aired for just eight episodes, and featured 10 finalists. Compared to American Idol, whose model it follows, Nashville Star looks downright anorexic. The show is so quiet and unassuming I didn’t even know it was ending.
