Nashville Star 4 contestants revealed
USA Network has announced the contestants who will compete during Nashville Star 4. Although the show has been known for drawing older contestants, the five men and five women who will compete this time are mostly in their 20s. To be exact, seven are in their 20s, while another is 31 and another is 33. The final contestant’s age isn’t given, but Jared Ashley’s photograph and bio suggests he’s no older than 33, and is probably not even 25.
Besides their ages, they have varying degrees of experience; Casey Rivers is 23 and “claims he briefly dated [former contestant] Miranda in high school,” and “has already shared the stage with country music greats Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson.” And 20-year-old Chris Young “has a fan club of hundreds who follow him religiously across the country.” On the other end of the spectrum, Monique LeCompte “works three jobs to make a living and still finds time to pursue her dream of being a country music superstar.”
They also have varying degrees of life experience; Jared Ashley “served two tours in the Persian Gulf” in the Navy, while Shy Jackson was “shot in the face in an attempted car jacking in 2002” but is now “bent on changing the boundaries of country music.”
The fourth season debuts March 14.
