It’s really not going to be necessary to watch Nashville Star 3 when it debuts in a few weeks, because we’ll already know everything about it. No more living in the “Nashville Star” house. All contestants are staying next door at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. … Also this season, the judges vote has been eliminated. They will be relying on viewer voting only, making it even more like “American Idol”. Fans can vote via the (no joke) “Burger King Hotline” or at nashvillestar.yahoo.com (which is not yet active). … All 10 contestants sounded good…kinda generic. One contestant, Jenny Farrell from Albuquerque, New Mexico, excused herself in mid-song…ran offstage and vomited backstage. They did not let her perform again, but they did re-tape a segment after the show announcing her phone number, should viewers want to vote for her anyway. Because she didn’t finish the song, she didn’t get any comments from the judges. … [T]hey originally post-taped a segment with her onstage explaining that she had a stomach virus (and that it was not all nerves), but after the show, they curiously re-taped that segment without the performer on stage to explain her situation. One can only speculate how they’ll spin it when they air it on 3/1.
