Nashville Star has its first female and first teenage winner, as 18-year-old Erika Jo Heriges was crowned the winner of the third contest last night. She earned the largest block of the 10 million votes cast, beating Jason Meadows and Jody Evans. Erika “won a 2005 Chevy Silverado truck, an appearance on the Grand Ole Opry and a recording contract with Universal South Records,” the AP reports. Her first record will be released June 14, but she’s already featured on the Nashville Star 2005 Finalists album.
