Nashville Star 3 ends its run tonight—long before American Idol 4 will even put on its brakes. The 90-minute finale begins at 10 p.m. ET, and LeAnn Rimes will host, back from a two-week illness-related absence. The final three contenders are Jody Evans, Erika Jo Heriges, and Jason Meadows. Reader Zack Bennett reports that the show has been sloppy about creating suspense recently. Last week, he says, judge Anastasia Brown critiqued the remaining contestants but “did not mention Jayron Weaver, who was the finalist ultimately eliminated at the end of Tuesday’s show. … Also, the producers were incredibly lazy in how they arranged the performers Tuesday night. The order the contestants performed … [and] The order in which they were revealed to be “safe” was exactly the same, and Jayron eliminated…making me think they wanted Mr. Elimination to go last so they wouldn’t have to sacrifice the order of the voting phone numbers.”
