LeAnn Rimes steps down as Nashville Star host temporarily because of illness.
Nashville Star 3 has lost its host, at least temporarily. “LeAnn Rimes has a broken blood vessel in one of her vocal cords and has to temporarily step down as host,” USA Network announced. The condition “is the result of a severe case of viral bronchitis. Although there is no timetable for her return to the stage, her doctors expect a speedy recovery,” the release says. Tonight, Sara Evans will host. The show, which will finish its season in less time than it takes Ryan Seacrest to do his hair, is down to four contestants.
