Buddy Jewell wins Nashville Star.
Buddy Jewell, the oldest contestant on Nashville Star, won the competition last night, walking away with a Sony Music Nashville contract. Jewell’s first single, “Help Pour Out the Rain (Lacey’s Song),” will be released to radio stations tomorrow morning. John Arthur Martinez placed second and Miranda Lambert came in third place; Lambert tells The Tennessean that it was “the right decision. Buddy and John Arthur have been working the hardest and the longest at this.” The paper also reports that “a decision [will] be made within two weeks” about renewing the show, which averaged under three million viewers a week.
