USA Network’s Nashville Star starts with live shows Saturday at 9 p.m. ET as the 12 finalists sing “Nashville classics” and prepare to possibly be eliminated by viewer votes. Finalist Travis Howard tells the AP that he’s more nervous because “I’m completely in the hands of these editors. … And that scares me to death.” The AP also talks to the show’s executive producer, George Verschoor, who directed and produced the first seasons of The Real World and produced Murder in Small Town X.
