Nashville Star beat American Idol 2 to the record stores, releasing an album by the show’s finalists last week. Nashville Star: The Finalists includes a track by each of the 12 finalists. A review of the album in The Tennessean says some of the “well-traipsed covers” are “polished and radio-ready,” but finds fault with others—and with the overall concept of the show.
