ArchivesJabbaWockeeZ, a masked dance group that has previously appeared on America’s Got Talent, won Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew last night. (The finale is online.) The San Diego-based group defeated the Boston-based group Status Quo, and won $100,000.
Some 38 million votes were cast, according to host Mario Lopez, and that’s about eight million more than were cast during American Idol this week, although voting for the MTV show did take place over a week, not a single evening.
MTV is currently casting for a second season of the show (it was renewed earlier this month). Producers want “18 years of age or older grouped in crews of five (5) to seven (7) members, made up of any combination of males and females.” Open calls are currently scheduled in Houston and L.A. in April, and the show will visit New York and other cities, too. Applications are due April 25.
