ArchivesHaving formed an all-female group during Making the Band 3, P Diddy will form an all-male group for a fourth season of the show.
MTV says Diddy is “looking to put together an all-male group of superstars who are ready and willing to skyrocket to the top of the charts,” while a casting notice posted on a MySpace page dedicated to the fourth season says the new group will be “a mix between New Edition and N’Sync.”
On a promotional trailer for the new show, Diddy himself says “you gotta be able to sing; I’m not looking for rappers.” Diddy also says that those who can’t attend open casting calls “can also upload a video” to MTV.com, but naturally, MTV’s colossally shitty new web site says nothing about this, nor is there a way to do that yet.
As to the open calls, casting starts Jan. 17 in Los Angeles, and continues Jan. 20 in Houston, Jan. 23 in Orlando, Jan. 27 in Atlanta, Jan. 30 in Chicago, Feb. 3 in Detroit, and Feb. 6 in New York.
