Last Comic Standing 4

Last Comic Standing 4 rejects will compete online in a separate contest

Last Comic Standing 4 is going to feature not one competition, but two separate competitions, one of which will take place almost entirely online. Comics who were rejected and did not make it into the house on the TV show will compete online for a separate title.

Viewer votes will select six of those 30 comics, which include both semi-finalists and others who didn’t make it that far; they “will go head-to-head in an online ‘semi-final’ round, which narrows the six finalists down to two. Then those two finalists will get primetime, national exposure when they perform on the penultimate episode of ‘Last Comic Standing,’ and viewers can vote for their favorite online finalist at NBC.com,” according to an NBC press release.

That online winner will be revealed at the same time that the real winner of the show is announced. There’s no word if that online winner receives a cash prize or just gets the satisfaction of knowing that he or she is the favorite comic of people who spend too much time online.

The show will also feature “interactive trivia and polling feature from Time Warner Cable,” according to NBC, which marks “the first time a major broadcast network will launch a synchronized interactive television application for a prime-time show.”
