Although there now will be a finale of Last Comic Standing 3 (last week, that wasn’t certain), the finale will not air on NBC, where every other episode of the show aired. Instead, NBC is filling its time slot with a marathon of Father of the Pride tonight, and pushing the finale off to Comedy Central, according to host Jay Mohr’s blog. When will it air? Even he doesn’t know. In her report on NBC’s bizarre decision, the Washington Post’s Lisa de Moraes steps into the cobwebbed minds of NBC executives and reports “that the decision to scrub the last ‘Comic’ episode may have something to do with the schedule for ‘Father of the Pride’ and NBC’s recent postponement of ‘The Contender,’ both of which are produced by Jeffrey Katzenberg at DreamWorks SKG.” That’s because “his ‘Father of the Pride’ is doing such sickly numbers on Tuesday night with the anemic ‘Last Comic Standing’ lead-in” that NBC might want to “see quickly what ‘Pride’ can do with a stronger lead-in before ordering more episodes of the cartoon series.”
