One of the finalists on Last Comic Standing 2 is dating one of the first-round judges. Bonnie McFarlane is “dating one of the judges from the first round, Rich Vos, with whom she ‘spontaneously’ banters during judging in the first episode,” Jami Attenberg writes on her blog. Vos is the established comedian who appeared on the first season of the show. She also points out that the first few episodes were “so clearly set up,” and “these comedians, they really make the worst actors. And the editing, and the logic—it just feels fixed.” For example, “obviously they asked ringers to perform in smaller towns rather than in their homebase of Los Angeles or New York.” Set up or not, the first episodes last week were extremely popular. In the Washington Post, Lisa de Moraes writes that “nearly 11 million viewers tuned in to the second episode of this NBC reality series’s second edition last Wednesday. That’s a best-ever for the franchise.”
