Kill Reality

The Scorned premiere delayed until Oct. 31 because of hurricanes, Halloween

The film that had its production chronicled on Kill Reality was supposed to debut last weekend. Then, it was rescheduled for this Saturday, and later for Oct. 15. Now, the premiere won’t be until Monday, Oct. 31, at 9 p.m. ET, more than a month after the original premiere date.

Why the change? Are the cast members trying to schedule last-minute auditions before their careers as “actors” officially burn up in the atmosphere? Was the movie so bad they’re replacing reality stars with CGI characters in post?

Actually, the reason is a lot simpler, and it has to do with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and with Halloween. Script writer and producer Rob Cesternino tells reality blurred exclusively why the debut of the film has been postponed:

“The biggest reason for the delayed premiere of “The Scorned” was to capitalize on gimmick of having a Halloween premiere. Secondly, following the tragedies that happened with hurricanes, I think that E! felt the timing just wasn’t right for a horror movie premiere (especially with reality stars).”

He also writes “that there are a lot of low expectations for the movie,” which is definitely an understatement. However, he says that the film “is absolutely going to shock the world (And not in a Jonny Fairplay sort of way).”
