Horrifyingly, Toni “was physically attacked in NYC,” “was bombarded by belligerent angry nightclub patrons and suffered severe trauma,” “encountered a stalker who literally camped out in front of her apartment building and threatened her life,” and “frequently meets hostile show fans that call her obscene names and instigate physical confrontations.” She has had some good experiences, as a woman wrote to Toni to tell her that “Toni’s tough attitude gave her the strength and courage to fight for her freedom in an abusive relationship.”
How do we know all of this? Toni’s public relations reps issued a press release to tell us that “[t]hese horrifying experiences have caused Toni an enormous amount of stress.”
Right about the time you feel sympathy, the press release dumps its real load: Toni’s apparently has her own reality series coming up. It says, “Next up for Ferrari? Her own reality show? Toni responds ‘I’m really an actress, but we shall see! I’ve got some good stuff in the works.’”
Seriously, is she kidding? This whole thing—bitching about reality TV-related horror as a way to promote a new reality project—is so absurd I’m almost convinced it’s a joke, because otherwise it’s so pathologically self-unaware and desperate that it’s just sad.
