My Life on the D-List will have “a talk-show feel”

The “celebrity oriented” fifth season of Kathy Griffin’s My Life on the D-List will have “a bit of a talk-show feel,” according to USA TODAY, although the show “will continue to focus on Griffin’s personal life and tongue-in-cheek publicity stunts.”

Kathy doesn’t offer many details, but suggests the docudrama format (which, with some notable exceptions, has become increasingly less spontaneous and is not at all cinema verite) will become more formulaic.

A number of celebrities—including Bette Midler, Christina Aguilera, Lily Tomlin, Rosie O’Donnell, Taylor Swift, and Dave Grohl—will appear, and Kathy told the paper, “I get to live in their magical A-list world for a day, but the show will still have the reality element, like my mother (Maggie) with her box of wine.”
