Jon and Kate drop 70 percent of their viewers

Jon and Kate Gosselin may have an even bigger problem on their hands besides their eight children and relationship issues: people are bailing from their show. After the season premiere’s record audience that beat even broadcast networks, Jon and Kate have lost 70 percent of that audience. Monday’s crossover episode with American Chopper was watched by 2.9 million people, down 31 percent from the previous week’s episode. Those decreases “are expected given the show’s tabloid-fueled debut,” and the current ratings are “a bit above the show’s fourth-season average,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. But if a relationship fails and no one is watching, does it make a noise other than Kate shrieking her husband’s name?
