FOX aired ads for Joe Millionaire 2 during the Emmy awards, and they confirm the report that the show will feature women from overseas and otherwise remain unchanged. The ad’s voice-over includes the line “first we lied to America” and shows clips of apparently foreign women talking about a man who they think is worth $8 million; the show is identified as The Next Joe Millionaire, and features the subtitle “an international affair.” The ads contradict and apparently nullify other rumors, such as the Star tabloid report that the show would essentially be Bravo’s Boy Meets Boy except with a woman picking from men who she didn’t know were gay.
