The Star-Tribune doesn’t help Minnesota’s reputation as a hip, happening place by publishing a story about Joe Millionaire that’s, oh, just a couple of years late. Columnist C.J. interviews Melissa Mowery, who apparently came in third place, but who can remember that far back? Melissa details four (weak) things about the show that were fake, including her crying after she was eliminated. Rather than crying about losing the rich guy, she says she was crying because she was going to miss the butler, Paul. She also says the things she said were “not genuine” because, as the paper reports, “producers always reminded ‘Joe’ women to be careful what they said to media because final edits hadn’t been made; editing can make you look good or bad.” Perhaps most hysterically, C.J. says Melissa “was the hurt from the negative side of all the media exposure.” And here she is, two years later, still seeking the attention of the media.
