Archivesis Joe Millionaire full of joe crap?
We already know that Joe Millionaire star Evan Marriott was an undewear model despite being identified only as a construction worker who makes $19K a year, and People reports that he had “a bit part in Days of Our Lives in 1999.” There’s also speculation that he may actually be a millionaire. We may not know about that until the end of the series, but for now, Entertainment Weekly reports that “the average California construction worker earns $42,000 annually” and quotes a Mass. construction worker who says that salary is “just not possible.” But Evan tells Newsweek that the $19K number came during 2001, when he worked as a contractor and “didn’t work the whole year” in part because of slowdowns post-Sept. 11. Of his modeling shots, Evan says “I think they’re wonderful” and says he “told Fox that they could come out, and they said fine. … I wasn’t shocked at all. In fact, I was hoping ‘Entertainment Tonight’ would have shown them more, but they didn’t.”
